Security Training
Generic off-the-shelf security training rarely changes behavior — because it is not built for your people, your environment, or the threats you actually face. M4 Cyber Solutions delivers training that is built custom to your team's role, skill level, and the specific risks your organization faces.
How it works
We work with you to select from our course catalog and define the scope — which courses, which audience, delivery format, and any organization-specific customizations. You receive a quote based on that selection.
- Select individual courses or build a multi-course program
- Delivery format tailored to your team: remote, on-site, or hybrid
- Course materials customized to your environment and threat landscape
- Supervisor dashboard to monitor employee progress and scores
- Certificate of completion issued to every participant
- Optional follow-up session to reinforce areas of weakness
Who it's for
- All employees — security awareness fundamentals, phishing recognition, reporting culture
- IT teams — network foundations, system hardening, incident identification
- Security practitioners — penetration testing technique, offensive tooling, red team methodology
- Developers — secure coding practices, common vulnerability classes, code review fundamentals
- Executives & managers — risk literacy, incident response tabletop, compliance landscape overview
Course catalog
Base courses available as standalone or bundled into a custom program. Duration for each course is scoped based on class size and depth of coverage agreed during your consultation.
Introduction to Networking
A foundational course covering how networks are built and how data moves through them. Essential knowledge before advancing to security tooling or practitioner coursework.
- OSI and TCP/IP models — what each layer does and why it matters
- IP addressing, subnetting, and routing fundamentals
- Common network services: DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, FTP, SMB
- Network components: switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers
- Packet capture basics — reading traffic in Wireshark
- Common network attack vectors at an awareness level
Introduction to Linux
A hands-on introduction to the Linux command line and system administration fundamentals. Critical for anyone moving into security tooling, scripting, or server administration.
- Navigating the filesystem and understanding directory structure
- File management: create, copy, move, delete, permissions
- User and group management; sudo and privilege concepts
- Process management and system monitoring commands
- Networking tools: ip, netstat, nmap at command level
- Bash scripting basics for task automation
Penetration Testing Basics
An introduction to the methodology, mindset, and core techniques used in penetration testing. Taught by a practitioner who performs this work professionally — not from a vendor slide deck.
- Penetration testing methodology (PTES phases)
- Reconnaissance: passive and active information gathering
- Enumeration: service discovery, version detection, vulnerability identification
- Exploitation fundamentals: Metasploit, manual exploitation concepts
- Post-exploitation: persistence, pivoting, credential harvest
- Documentation and report writing for technical findings
Wireless Attack Techniques
A practitioner-level course in wireless network security assessment. Covers the attack techniques used in real engagements alongside the defensive countermeasures that stop them.
- 802.11 protocol fundamentals and the authentication lifecycle
- WPA2/WPA3 attack methodology: handshake capture, PMKID, key recovery
- Evil twin and rogue AP attacks — setup, detection, and defense
- Deauthentication attacks and their impact on wireless clients
- Captive portal bypass techniques
- Rogue AP detection tools and wireless IDS concepts
Custom programs and bundled curriculum
The four base courses can be combined into a multi-day program, or we can build a fully custom curriculum around your specific needs. If your organization needs awareness training for all staff alongside technical practitioner courses for your security team, we can scope both in a single engagement.
- Mix-and-match courses across skill levels in one program
- Custom modules built around your industry, compliance requirements, or post-assessment findings
- Prerequisite paths so beginner courses feed into advanced ones
- All materials are provided to your organization — no locked platform or recurring license fees
What every participant receives
Certificate of completion
Each participant who completes a course receives a signed certificate of completion. Where client requirements specify additional credentialing, we will discuss applicable options during scoping.
Supervisor tracking
Supervisors and training managers are provided access to monitor employee progress and assessment scores throughout the program. Completion records are documented for compliance reporting where required.
Hands-on labs
Technical courses include hands-on labs using real tools in controlled environments — not artificial CTF puzzles. Participants practice what they learn before leaving the session.
